Off-Grid Mesh privacy policy

Effective TBD. Applies to the Off-Grid Mesh app published by Dreamz Code (Jeremy Doege).

The short version

Off-Grid Mesh has no servers and no accounts. Messages travel directly between your team's phones, encrypted with your team passphrase.

What's shared with your team

Messages, map pins, checklists and status updates you post are sent to nearby team phones, and relayed through other team phones, using Google Nearby Connections. Location is shared only when you drop a pin or send a help call.

What stays on your device

Message history, offline map packs, your team passphrase and settings.

Downloads

Map packs are cut from a map archive you download. TODO: confirm the map data source.

Permissions

Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and nearby devices (for the mesh) and location (for the map and for Nearby Connections).

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
