BT Receiver

Android 13+ (rooted) · Released v0.3.0

BT Receiver switches a rooted phone's Bluetooth into receiver mode, so a PC or another phone can pair with it and play audio through it like a Bluetooth speaker. One tap switches back to regular Bluetooth.

The story

Problem
Android phones can send audio over Bluetooth but not receive it, even though the Bluetooth stack has a receiver mode built in. Turning it on by hand means editing system settings and restarting Bluetooth every boot.
Solution
Everything ships in the APK. Grant root once and the app installs its own setup script and boot hook, flips the phone into speaker mode, and restores the original settings when you switch back. Playback controls go through the Bluetooth connection to the source device.
Result
v0.3.0 is free on GitHub Releases. Tested on a moto g 2026 (MediaTek, Android 16, KernelSU) and not tied to a chip vendor.

Features

  • One-tap Speaker / Regular switch, reapplied at boot
  • Now playing, play/pause, skip and stop for the connected source
  • Works with KernelSU, Magisk or APatch
  • Remove from system restores the phone's original Bluetooth settings

Built with

  • Kotlin
  • Jetpack Compose
  • Material 3
