SpeedEQ privacy policy

Effective October 9, 2026. Applies to the SpeedEQ app (package dev.dreamz.speedeq) published by Dreamz Code (Jeremy Doege).

The short version

SpeedEQ has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no servers.

Location

SpeedEQ reads your precise GPS location about once a second to work out your speed. It's used in memory to set the EQ and then discarded. It is never stored or sent.

Microphone (optional Smart Tune)

If you run Smart Tune, SpeedEQ measures sound levels in each frequency band along with your speed and saves only those numbers on your phone. No audio is recorded.

Audio app detection

The optional per-app mode detects which app is playing audio. This happens only on your phone.

What stays on your device

Your EQ tuning, vehicle profile and theme. SpeedEQ does not collect your name, email, contacts, files, photos or device identifiers.

Purchases and free trial

Google Play handles purchases under Google's privacy policy, and SpeedEQ only learns whether your Google account owns the upgrade. The 3-day trial is timed on your phone, and nothing about it is sent anywhere.

When data leaves your phone

Only when you choose Share my tuning or Send my tuning to the developer. The email option includes your EQ numbers, app version, vehicle profile, audio output name, phone make and model, Android version, and anything you type. Nothing is sent unless you press Send.

Children

SpeedEQ is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
