Fire Blaster
Fire Blaster drives ELKSMART-family USB IR blasters to learn, find and send remote codes, and shares the blaster on your network as an iTach and LIRC gateway for Home Assistant and friends.
The story
- Problem
- USB-C IR dongles ship with limited vendor apps, and lots of phones have no IR emitter at all.
- Solution
- A from-scratch USB driver for the dongles' firmware families, a protocol decoder for learning, a matcher against about 7,900 known code sets, and a Wi-Fi bridge that speaks two well-known IR gateway protocols.
- Result
- v0.3 controls TVs and streamers from the phone and from Home Assistant over Wi-Fi, with 96 automated tests.
Features
- Learning mode that decodes NEC, Samsung, Sony, RC5/RC6 and more, or saves the raw waveform
- Find my remote: match button presses against ~7,900 code sets
- Wi-Fi bridge as Global Caché iTach (port 4998) and LIRC (port 8765)
- Imports Flipper .ir, LIRC .conf, IRDB .csv and Pronto codes
